우리 실험실에서는 태양광 및 광촉매를 이용 물을 분해하여 수소를 합성, CO2 변환 연료(메탄, 포름산, 메탄올 등) 합성, 인체에 유해한 휘발성유기화합물(암모니아, 포름알데히드, 메탄 등)의 연구를 합니다. 왜냐하면 수소는 미래의 신재생 에너지원으로서 연료전지에 공급되어 전력생산에 사용되며 지구온난화 온실가스인 CO2가 발생하지 않는 친환경기술으로 각광받고 있기 때문입니다. 한편 대기 중 CO2를 화학연료로 변환하여 재활용함는 기술을 연구함으로써 고부가가치의 산업 창출 또한 가능합니다. 우리 실험실에서는 궁극적으로 실내활동시간이 증가되면서 실내 공기 속에 축적되는 인체유해가스의 완전분해를 통해 건강한 삶의 질 향상을 목표로 합니다.
In our lab, we are studing photocatalysts to decompose water to accomplish HER, CO2 converted fuels(methane, formic acid, methanol etc), and volatile organic compounds(ammonia, formaldehyde, methane, etc). This is because we believe that hydrogen is supplied to fuel cells as a renewable energy source in the future, used for power generation, and is attracting attention as an eco-friendly technology that does not generate global warming greenhouse gas or CO2. Also, case of CO2 converted fuels, It is also possible to create a high value-added industry by researching the technology of converting and recycling CO2 in the atmosphere into chemical fuel. Our laboratory ultimately aims to improve the quality of life through the complete decomposition of harmful human gas that accumulates in the indoor air as the time spends in indoor increases.
